Conversion of existing 3M company warehouse to new Miso Production/distribution/warehouse facility.
Marukome, Inc. the biggest miso manufacturer in Japan, decided to locate to North America in 2007 for the potential demand in U.S. for healthy Japanese foods.
Execution Approach
The first challenge of this project was site selection. Although Japanese food is known worldwide, we first needed to explain to local city government what “MISO” is. The biggest challenges during the construction phase were coordinating communications among Japanese equipment/ machinery vendor and local MEP sub-contractors and managing the right method of installation and schedule.
